किसान का बेटा : The plight of Indian farmer.

My closest of friends on his way home met a farmer’s son. The following poem is the plight of an Indian farmer after the unconditional rain as seen through the eyes of his son. I would like to thank my Friend Saurabh Giri to give me an opportunity to share this with you people.

Pita ji k chehre pe harsh tha
Ek achhi kheti ka ye varsh tha

Kahte the beta ab nahi reh jaegi koi fikar
Banaunga tujhe aisa ki desh karega fakar Continue reading

La Vie en Rose

Though La Vie en Rose is sung by multiple singers and cast in a number of movies over the period of time.

This original french cabaret singer Édith Piaf‘s signature song was written in 1945 and popularized over a long period of time. I personally love the Cristin Milioti’s version of the La Vie en Rose from the series How I Met your Mother(HIMYM)

Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose Continue reading

The Hidden List. (List 1)

Every person has once in their life thought about things they want to do before they die. Some people can’t say some of these things out loud in the world. I am not ranking them, just listiing thing unknown people suggested they would do before it all ends. Continue reading

HeartBreak

If you have loved and lost you are this is you. Heartbreak may be caused by a variety of reasons, but it takes a part of us away. The period of suffering does not matter, some get over fast others do not.  As we associate Heart with love the most, the major cause of heartbreak is the failure in love. Not that there are no other causes,  but love hurts more than any other cause can. You feel defeated and it pains. This mind numbing feeling tries to engulf you completely.

Kenji : The story of Japanese immigrants after the Perl Harbor Bombing.

My father came from Japan in 1905
He was 15 when he immigrated from Japan
He worked until he was able to buy respect and build a store

Let me tell you the story in the form of a dream,
I don’t know why I have to tell it, but I know what it means,
Close your eyes, just picture the scene,
As I paint it for you, it was World War II,
When this man named Kenji woke up,
Ken was not a soldier,
He was just a man with a family who owned a store in LA,
That day, he crawled out of bed like he always did,
Bacon and eggs with wife and kids,
He lived on the second floor of a little store he ran,
He moved to LA from Japan,
They called him ‘Immigrant,’
In Japanese, he’d say he was called “Issei,”
That meant ‘First Generation In The United States,’
When everybody was afraid of the Germans, afraid of the Japs,
But most of all afraid of a homeland attack,
And that morning when Ken went out on the doormat,
His world went black ’cause,
Right there; front page news,
Three weeks before 1942,
“Pearl Harbour’s Been Bombed And The Japs Are Comin’,”
Pictures of soldiers dyin’ and runnin’,
Ken knew what it would lead to,
Just like he guessed, the President said,
“The evil Japanese in our home country will be locked away,”
They gave Ken, a couple of days,
To get his whole life packed in two bags,
Just two bags, couldn’t even pack his clothes,
Some folks didn’t even have a suitcase, to pack anything in,
So two trash bags is all they gave them,
When the kids asked mom “Where are we goin’?”
Nobody even knew what to say to them,
Ken didn’t wanna lie, he said “The US is lookin’ for spies,
So we have to live in a place called Manzanar,
Where a lot of Japanese people are,”
Stop it don’t look at the gunmen,
You don’t wanna get the soldiers wonderin’,
If you gonna run or not,
‘Cause if you run then you might get shot,
Other than that try not to think about it,
Try not to worry ’bout it; bein’ so crowded,
Someday we’ll get out, someday, someday.

To Sir, With Love – My school story

I was in class 12th half way through before we even knew. It seemed as if I had just entered school. For the first time, I understood the meaning of the phrase “time on wings “. It flew past us and we weren’t aware of it. The realization struck on us like a thunderbolt when the teachers started in terms of “the examination point of view “.

” DIDI ” : The taxi women

It was just a day after International Women’s day. Internet was full with messages on “women empowerment”, pathetic condition of women in India, rapes, and that we celebrate every day  as women’s day. I despise the people who think that Indian culture does not permit any rights to women. It is shameful how men/boys have become an element of fear. Where as I also despise handful women who say “All men are dogs” or play the “weaker sex” card for special privileges. After another day’s work I was late from office. It was already 11:30, and I had to get a cab for getting back home. Waiting at the bus stop my thoughts started racing about how certain people slave to most depressing of theories about women in Indian culture. Continue reading
